It is doubtful that there has ever been a band that has better summed up what’s on the adolescent males’ minds than The Naked Apes. On their debut album, Something In My Genes, they tackle every conceivable fantasy in brilliantly literate, tongue in cheek, self-deprecating fashion and turn out one irreverent pop punk anthem after another. Obvious heirs to Smashmouth, Blink 182 and Bowling for Soup the crazy Brits prove themselves the ultimate frat party rockers and their album is sure to go down a storm when unleashed in the United States.
Described as the next soundtrack to American Pie, The Naked Apes are cunning linguists whose speed of wit and cheeky humor combine with infectious tunes and pulsating rhythms and heavy guitars grooves to expose a fantasy world of beaches, babes, beer and summer fun, but not necessarily in that order. Fittingly, The Naked Apes’ material has already seen exposure on 7 episodes of MTV’s Punked as well as several Extreme Sports shows. Having opened for the likes of Wheatus, REEF, Athlete, Fun Loving Criminals and Steriogram in the UK this summer, The Naked Apes will embark on an extended string of US LIVE Shows.
